Birthdays, Road Trips, Laughter and Love

The happy life.

So much has taken place in our happy life since the last post, let me get started on the update:

March 19th-We celebrated Travis' birthday, even though he was having a grander celebration in Heaven. Jacob manage to successfully say "Happy Birthday Daddy!" in language most humans could understand and he ended the night dreaming and talking to daddy in his sleep. That evening Jay took me for what was suppose to be a date, just the two of us, the first one since moving into the new house. Well, we figured out really quickly, about 10 minutes into the "date", that we can not function without Jacob. We literately do not know what to do without our little buddy! We did nothing but talk about him 90% of the time, even spent another $100 at Carter's on him some, un-needed summer gear, and missed him dearly! We did manage to get in some much needed laughter and let our hair down at Buffalo Wild Wings, I know real romantic, eh? We LOVE that place, and on this particular night it was quite eventful. Almost like we were the couple from "Date Night" trying to figure out the stories of those around us. People watching is always a treat! We enjoyed our wings and adult beverages and headed back home; where we found ourselves in bed at 10pm. What a night!

March 25th-What an awesome day to celebrate! Today was Jacob's 2nd birthday. Can you believe that he is 2? My tiny, miracle baby is 2?! Where did the time go? I took off work today to celebrate his special day with him! We started the day with a photography session by Purifoy Photography-highly recommend them!! After the photo session we met up with Jacob's Gigi and spent the rest of the day having lunch, building "George" at Build-A-Bear, shopping, and playing! Then we arrived back home where Jay and Uncle Randy had been working all morning to build Jacob's wooden swing set! The look on Jacob's tiny face as he walked through the gate the back yard was, priceless! For the next 3 hours we spent our time outside going up and down the slide a dozen times, and running around the back yard like a wild man! Later that evening we moved our celebration to Joe's Crab Shack with family and friends to have dinner and an ice cream ball covered with sprinkles! Jacob was in Heaven!

March 26th-TOY STORY PARTY! Today we had yet another celebration for Jacob's 2nd birthday, it was party day! We had all Jacob's family and friends come to our house for an infinite celebration to remember! He is SO loved and blessed to have such a huge group of people that love him. The party was a hit and he played his heart out. I have never seen little legs go so fast in my life! Our backyard has offically been converted into a toddlers playground of dreams!

March 30th-I got a very interesting email. For those of you that know I have gone through pure HELL since Travis died with his father. For some reason his mother can seem to but the past behind us all and build a relationship with me to see her grandson. She has become understanding of the changes we have had to make due to Jacob's health and she stays involved in our life. She understands that I have moved on with my life in the best interest of my son and with the best man God himself could have ever delivered me. She can do it, why does his father insist on seperating himself from that and attempt to be greedy with MY child? On the 30th, 4 days after Jacob's party, he sends me an email talking about how him and Sue (his current wife) need more time with Jacob and they want this time alone. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? First of all, he has no idea what is going on with Jacob health wise or anything else for that matter, when Jacob was in the hospital he stopped by for all of 5 minutes and Sue didn't even come with him, once we left the hospital he didn't even attempt to come see him or ask how he was doing but he went to spend time with Travis' buddie in Houston, then he doesn't make it to the February visitation that I set up for him beause he has to "work" although the rest of the month he was off?! He comes to Jacob's birthday party alone, without Sue, and doesn't even speak to me, yet talks around me and about me. This man can not even carry on a civil conversation with me because of his own greed and self pitty yet he wants to take MY son off...negative! That is just the choas this man has created for himself in the last month, I won't even begin with what he has done in the last 11 months. I have yet to respond to this email, I can not believe someone who stays so distant and can not even be civil to the mother of his one and only grandchild, has the nerve to email me and ask to take my son away from me....what a joke!

March 31st-My Birthday! We celebrated with friends and family over dinner at Cheddars! I got some new jewls with my baby's birthstone in it; money; gift cards; and a NOOKcolor! Great 26th birthday!

April 1st-3rd-We took our 2nd trip to see my brother in LA, "swamptown"! We had a great time. We always do. I still can not believe that my baby brother is headed off to War in just 3 weeks. It is a very unsettling feeling. I didn't have this feeling when Travis deployed, why do I have it with my brother? Just keep praying...

This week we will make our way back to LA to see Jeff again and celebrate my mother's birthday! All she wants for her birthday is all her kids to be together, including her "stray" kids! More laughter and love coming soon....
