I was super blessed Friday and Saturday with 3 incredible photo shoots to start off my weekend. Not to mention that my brother was able to come home this year for Easter and Jacob wasn't sick! Hallelujah! I also picked up some paint for the playroom and Jake's bathroom, but as you would know...I have yet to touch either of them since I sat them down in the garage after they were purchased! I promise there are some home makeover posts coming soon....
Saturday was a day of cleaning and yard work, much needed, and highly neglected chores around our house here lately. Our yard is surely starting to look perrrty and our house is ...well I think it's always perrrty! Saturday afternoon Jacob got an early Easter treat and got to spend the night with two of his favorite cousins to die eggs and get ready for the easter bunny! For the following reason, I thank God he was with them.....
After my last photo shoot for the weekend, Jay & I decided to get a quick bite to eat and then drive through the Diamond Creek subdivision. Jay had not driven past it sine the tornados last Tuesday. It is breathtaking and overwhelming to see all the damage and brokenness. But that wasn't the only thing that broke my heart. As we were driving through Jay got a text from Jessica to tell me that Spanky had passed.
Spanky was our family dog we've had for about 18 years now. He was a crazy little puppy and became such an old man with age. My brother said that it appeared he just had a heart attack by the back door. My poor mother was just heart broken, and my father looked lost. I was so glad that my brother was home and they had spent the day playing in the back yard, they were best buddies. Mom said that later that night Honey, our other family dog and crate mate to Spanky at night, was lost without him. She didn't quite understand what in the world was going on and she would just bark at my dad. Where was her pal?! I hope you can play in peace with Rosco now Spanky......
We got back home around midnight and Jay and I crashed. We could barely keep our heads up on the 10 mile drive back home, we were exhausted.
Sunday morning we woke to an amazing service at cLife. I am so glad this is the church that we call home! If you are in the area and are looking for a home church I suggest a visit to www.clifec.com! You will love it!
After church we drove to Athens to meet up with the rest of the family and do our traditional Easter lunch, baskets, egg hunt, and family time! We left Athens just as the rain started to come down, thankful that it didn't rain during our egg hunt! Once at home Jake and Jay played outside, inside, played some Xbox games, and then we all settled in on the couch and watched "HOP"!!
Here are a few pictures of our time...
