Good Morning Girls Summer Bible Study (GMG)
I am now into week 4 of the GMG study and I haven't updated since my post almost 2 weeks ago! I have to admit that during weeks 2 & 3 I fell a bit behind. But have since caught up and here are the takeaways from the past 2 weeks:
Week 2, Day 1: Proverbs 31:10 "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies" Proverbs 12:4 "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband but she that marketh ashamed is rottenness in his bones." Day 2: Proverbs 18:22 "He who finds a good wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord." Day 3: Proverbs 31:11"Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value" Day 4: Proverbs 16:20 "Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord."
Week 2 Reflection:
Be a wife of noble character.
Be humbling to your spouse, be his crown.
Set positive examples for your family.
Walk with wisdom.
Trust.In.Him.
Ask God for guidance.
Know your spouse trusts you, has full confidence in you.
Bring good to your spouse everyday.
Week 3, Day 1: Proverbs 31:12 "She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." Day 2: Col 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, no for human masters." These two verses hit home with me during week 3 and I found myself coming back to them every day. I think as working mothers and wives we often find ourselves just simply making it through the routine day to day and not paying much attention to all that our spouses really do. I also think that because our spouses tend to be our very best friends, we vent to them more than we praise them. And bless their hearts they are definitely the ones we take all our frustration out on.
As I continue to work through this Bible study and see what all a Proverbs 31 woman is, I am convicted more and more and shown what all I don't do. I find that I am learning more about how to be the noble wife that God wants me to be and Jay needs me to be be. I am learning more about how a mother should lead her family and set examples for her children. I am blessed to be able to be a mother and have a husband that is so incredibly loving and caring even when I don't deserve it. This is exactly the Bible study that I need to be doing, exactly what all I need to be learning.
How do you bring your spouse good? Do you do it daily?
It is my prayer and my intention going forward to give Jay more praise daily, to pray for him, and pray out loud.
