"Just Keep Breathing"

"In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path." Proverbs 3:6

Baby Squishy
I have decided that after our extended stay in Children's hospital last weekend, my baby boy really is like Nemo. Instead of having a gimpy fin, he has a gimpy left lung. Last Friday, we were sent the ER by Jacob's pediatrician because his oxygen levels were too low and he was laboring to breathe. After being there all evening and into the wee hours of the morning, they finally admitted us to our room upstairs. Chest x-rays and numerous doctors could not figure out why my baby was not breathing correctly and he was going to need a series of tests to figure out the problem. We finally got answers on Sunday afternoon. He had rhinovirus, adenovirus, RSV, bronchiolitis, high fever, high blood pressure, and a left lung that wasn't fully functioning- on top of severe allergies and asthma. Lovely. There is nothing harder for a mother to watch her baby go through what mine did and be completely helpless. We were released from Children's Monday morning, prescriptions in hand we were set to go home. Jacob was more than elated to be going home, he was sick of people poking him, shoving stuff up his nose, down his throat, etc And quite frankly, I was tired of seeing it!  He had his follow up appointment yesterday and he is recovering wonderfully!

We live in Texas? What is all this white stuff on the ground?
Cabin fever has hit us hard. We have been stuck to the house since we came home from the hospital. We were able to venture out on Thursday; I had to work and Jay took Jacob to his follow up appointment. Wednesday we were iced in and Today we were snowed in. Unbelievable. I hope the weather clears up tomorrow because we are all losing our minds in this house and need some fresh air, not bitter cold fresh air. My poor grandmother came to stay with us in case we needed a baby-sitter this week, Jacob can't return to school until he has made a 100% improvement and I could not miss any more work. Well, needless to say, she has been stuck here with all of us all week! I know she is beyond ready to go home. Jay just wants to go to work. I just want to go buy more groceries.

Congrats Jeff!
My parents are iced in San Antonio right now. My brother graduated from Army Medic School this weekend. I really wish I could have been there, but my gimpy baby would not have made the journey. I am more than proud of him for all his accomplishments. I just pray he stays on the right track! He has the world at his feet.
