In case you didn't already know, we are going to the
Perhaps now would be a great time to share our engagment story......
On Friday, September 16th, at roughly 2:30pm Jay showed up at my office and said, "let's go, the weekend is starting now". For those of you who don't know, my job is well, kind of important, someone has to be at my desk at all times. I couldn't just leave my desk and start my weekend because this handsome man was standing at the counter my car keys in hand and telling me lets go. A few moments later my boss comes around the corner with a big smile on her face and tells me, go have fun! So we were off.....kidnapped and driven west with not a clue in the world. For those that know me, you know how hard this was for me. I am extremely difficult to suprise because I am nosey and I don't like not
Headed west and I didn't have a clue why, where, or what was coming! About an hour later we pull up to the Omni Hotel in downtown Ft. Worth, that is our "spot". Any time we just want to get away, we shack up at the Omni for some serious down time. After checking in at the front counter we take the elevator up the 15th floor, we walk up to the door "1540" and I notice there is a doorbell, hotel rooms don't have doorbells?! Well, our
I gracefully bounced around this suite like I was some homeless person who just won the lottery thinking there is no way we are staying here all weekend, and the rational side of me was thinking and WHOSE credit card is this being billed to? Who thinks of reality at a time like this? Who thinks of money, when they are about to be proposed to?!...This girl. I masked the rational side and bounced out on the balcony clueless to what was about to happen.....
We were standing on the balcony looking out over downtown Ft. Worth, it was pure bliss. The weather was perfect, well except the wind blowing my hair and dress in directions that didn't make for such picture-esque scenery. Jay wrapped his arms around me and was telling me how important Jacob and I were to him and make sure that I knew we meant the world to him. Then the next thing I remember he was down on one knee pouring his heart out to me and "Will you make me the happiest man in the world, will you marry me?"....I think I interupted his speech a few times saying ..."YES! YES! YES!"
The balcony was perfect, the words were heartfelt, the ring is ...STUNNING!
Next came Doug Bell and the Nikon...Mr. PictureMan himself to capture the moment via photography that we will cherish forever. A suprise dinner with friends and family at Joe T Garcia's.......memories to last a lifetime for a couple who love each other more than life itself.
For those of you wondering what the significance of the balcony is....I will leave you with this musical clip...
*Jay tried to get the 18th floor balcony....but the 15th floor was perfect.
