How did you ring in the new year?
Jay & I, along with some of our great friends Destiney & Jeremiah, took on the Cheesecake Factory for a way overdue last dinner of 2011. Jay & I have been due for a date at the Cheesecake Factory since my birthday in March. We decided to go out with a bang and eat as much as we possibly could, thank God I purchased a new pair of (size 2 larger) jeans for this occasion, or else I would be miserable. Red velvet cheesecake will forever be a weakness of mine, along with avocado egg rolls, and white sangria. Oh, Cheesecake Factory, thanks for making the last dinner of 2011, epic.
After we ate ourselves into an oblivion, we headed out to Gilley's Dallas to see Wade Bowen play at the South Side Music Hall. If you have never been to a Wade Bowen show, I highly recommend you grab the one you love and a few good friends and make that a priority of 2012. He puts on a great show and his playlist isn't bad either! My mom calls Jay & I groupies...just because we have a few drum sticks, a few playlist, a few guitar picks from various shows doesn't mean we are groupies....we are junkies!
As expected, especially when the 4 of us go out in public together, there is guaranteed to be a few "funnies" said. Here is a short list of the nights entertainment:
- "You're going to wake up in the morning and say, "Oh, my cheeks!""
- Take a straight.
- I don't think I've said anything stupid this tonight.
- Malcom X.
- Watch it Junkie!
- Gangsters to the left, S-Kickers to the right.
- I need to go check my underwear.
- She said the P word. She said pancake.
- Add that to the status.
- Na Na Man Na
- Argh Matey
- And tomorrow we'll hear Bible verses from Ashley.
- It just fell out of my mouth.
Now about those Resolutions....
Here is a complied list of my resolutions & to-do's for 2012:
- Church every Sunday. No excuses. Even if we are sick and can't physically make it, it will be watched from home.
- Join Community Group & attend every Sunday. No excuses. This will be good for us and our home.
- Spend more time in prayer.
- Have breakfast with Jake every morning before work/school. It's one those "times" you can't get back after it's gone.
- Get Jake back into a more fitting bedtime routine. Dinner. Play time. Bath Time. Story Time. Movie Time. Sleep Time. By 9pm.
- Eat dinner at the table. The dinning table. Every night. Without the TV.
- Workout. At least 3 times a week. No excuses. I have bonded with this extra 25 pounds long enough.
- Eat healthier. 6 smalls a day.
- At least 2 date nights a month.
- Put more money in savings. Pay off some debt.
- Premarital counseling and new couples devotional. Top Priority.
- Graudate school. Complete by March 2013.
- Get Married. The way we want to. Regardless.
- Family vacation. Nashville, TN.
