Health Updates [Jeff & Jake]

Jeff-
Some of you may remember reading several posts about my brother and his health issues since deployment. You may also remember that these health issues are caused by the accidents he was involved in while over seas. If you don't remember this or you don't know the relationship I have with my brother you can read about it on my blog "some sibling love".

Since this post my poor brother has gone through more testing, more passing out, etc. He did find out last week that some of the trouble is not being caused by his inner ear, wich is not so great news. Now they are narrowing the problem down to his heart or his spine. Not what I cared to hear. He does however, have a hearing aid now which I am sure helps out tremendously with the lack of hearing ability that was coming from his left ear. Its really tiny and I couldn't even tell he had one until he pointed it out. Thank God for modern medicine and the ability to make the unthinkable happen. Could you image being 20 and not being able to hear anything in your left ear for the rest of your life? I know it happens to many and I pray they get some sort of modern technology to assist them as well.

Now for the not so fun news. He will be traveling to Ft. Sam Houston in the coming days to get more testing on his heart and spine so that they can figure out what the real problem is. Let's just hope that in this journey they really find out what the problem is and he can get some real answers and solutions!

In the mean time if you know my brother at all, you know that he has never been a "small" child and that he has always been a little "special" ....this past Easter weekend was a perfect opportunity for him to showcase that specialness for us.....and for your entertainment pleasure...here is he....ins't Jessica one lucky lady!

I sure do love his silly self.

Jake-
You also may know of the countless times I have posted about having a sick baby. Well hopefully we have finally got the answer to our  prayers. Our regular pediatrician who we are so grateful for sent us to Dr. Illoabachie who is an ENT specialist. He took one look in Jacob's mouth and about hit the floor! We found that his airway is restricted by 80%! His tonsils and adenoids are the size of baseballs....no wonder this poor baby is struggling all the time! So, Jacob will undergo surgery in the coming days to remove his tonsils & adenoids, have tubes put in his ears, and they will also complete the allergy panel on him while he is already asleep. I am just praying that all of this will help with all his struggles. While I am not looking forward to them putting him "under" I am looking forward to him having some relief!
