I have posted several times about emeals.com, I love it so much there are 2 links on my blog to get you to the website (be sure to click on one of them to check it out!).
I started using emeals a few months ago and I will never use anything else. The millions of cookbooks in my kitchen have grown dust and are hardly ever used anymore. I was tired of the same ol' dinners and lunches. I was tried of sitting at my dinning room table for hours trying to decide what my family was going to eat, how to prepare my grocery list, and what all we were going to eat with the main dishes. In my quest to find a meal planning guide, I found the most incredible resource God has ever made (besides the Bible, of course!) emeals.com.
Once you join emeals.com, you choose the options that best suite your families needs.
1. You choose the grocery store. There are selected grocery stores to choose from but a great deal of the major stores are listed. I use Kroger, but there is also Wal Mart, Whole Foods, Aldi, etc. If your store isn't listed you can select the option that says "any other store".
2. You choose the family meal size. There is a family option and a menu's for 2 option. The family meals typically feed 3-6 and the menu's for 2 meals obviously feed 1-2.
3. Then you choose the meal type. There are several options such as natural/organic, vegetarian, gluten free, clean eating, and then the good whole regular/classic meal plans. We have tried the all and they have never disappointed. However, we have decided to stick to the classic family meal plans because those seem to be more of what we would like to eat than the others. I do choose vegan cheeses, soy milks, and gluten free items to substitute with these meals for my son who has food allergies.
Once you have selected the options for the plans you prefer, you never have to log back into the website again. Unless you want to change the plan you selected. You are allowed to change the plans. For example if you choose clean eating and you decide those meals are not for your family you simply log back in and change your plan. You can only do this once a month though, so keep that in mind!
*Once you sign up, you will see a box that says "This week's plan" & "Last week's plan" you can click on those to print out the current plans so you don't have to wait on your plan to arrive via email.
Each week, depending on the day that you signed up, your plan is emailed to you. When you open the attachment you will find two pages.
The first page is the list of meals. Dinner plans come with 7 days worth of meals. The page is divided into rows and columns. Each row is one meal including sides. One column shows the name of the meal, the second column shows the ingredients, and the third shows the instructions. These meals have never taken me longer than 30 minutes to prepare and make!
The second page is the grocery list. The list is broken up by sections of the grocery store. It tells you exactly how much of each item that you need, as well as the staples you should already have listed at the very bottom. The items are also numbers according to the day of the meal it should go with in case you need to substitute something.
I have recently added to the lunch plans to my subscription and it has been perfect. Jake and I both have to take our lunches to work/school and I was getting tired of sandwiches and chips daily and wanted to try something new. So, when emeals.com launched its lunch plan subscription I jumped on it! I have be so thankful ever since! The lunch plans list 5 days worth of lunch meals including in the exact same format as the dinner meal plans. Each lunch makes enough for 4 people to have a lunch. It also provides you with a great packable snack, too! Great, healthy, quick lunches!
Another great thing about emeals.com is they give you little extras. For example, at Father's Day they emailed a list of great meals for the entire day for dad. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner plans for the whole day to celebrate dad! A couple of weeks ago, they emailed me a celebrate family week meal plan and activity plan and the meals and ideas they chose were awesome! I can't wait to see what we could get for the holidays!
This subscription is worth every penny I spent on it and then some! It makes life so easy! And another positive...it's highly recommend by Dave Ramsey!
I simply print them out and put them in a binder in my kitchen so that I always have them at hand! I do recommend printing an additional copy of the grocery list so that you can keep one with the meal plans and take one to the grocery store and mark it all up!
