Interesting!

...the word for this past weekend. "Interesting!"

I am not one that typically likes to read let alone write a play-by-play blog about what events unfolded during the weekend/week/month etc. but this weekend was full of events worth sharing....so here goes:

Friday:
I spend all day in Trophy Nissan Friday. Why?! Because I became a big girl and bought myself my very own new car (first one purchased without my mom as a co-signer) and I am quite proud of my purchase. To make a long story short lets just say the "Jeep Thief" took my hunk-of-junk Jeep off my hands. I just bought the ol' thing 2 years ago and have hated it since. It rattled and clanked and after being told by the mechanic at the dealership I bough it at that it was always going to have these problems and I should just get rid of it, I had never been so happy to see it go. Thank you Jeep Thief! So, I am now cruising the streets in a brand new, fully loaded, 2010 Nissan Rogue!! The car I had originally wanted when I bought the Jeep, should have known to stick with a Nissan. It is phantom white with grey/black leather interior, and every bell and whistle you could ask for =)  While I purchased the car Jacob destroyed the poor salesmans office with peanut butter crackers, took balloons off of a $90k car on the showroom floor, and stuck his "fish" lips on the glass trying to get peoples attention outside. God bless the janitorial staff that had to clean up after "Travis Jr." After our long day we happily drove away in our new fancy ride, packed our bags, and headed to our home away from home for the weekend....you guessed it Jay's! The icing on the cake was the munchkin waking up at midnight for a banana. He's not spoiled at all.

Saturday:
Saturday morning/early afternoon I took Jacob to stay with his grandpa Perkins for the next two evenings. A couple of Travis' friends from Houston were coming into town and staying with the Perkins' for a quick visit so they asked if Jacob could join them. After dropping him off and missing him horribly before even backing out of the driveway, I went to have lunch with Kim and Stephanie. What an adventure! The topic of conversation was highly entertaining and full of great laughs, I feel so sorry for the tables around us. After lunch we floated around in the pool a bit and enjoyed some more entertaining converstation. The pool was nice and the company was awesome! Saturday night was date night with the mister. I love it when we get the chance to have a date night, just the two of us. Doesn't happen often, usually our date nights consist of something more kid-friendly and we have the munchkin. Margaritas, mexican food, and a movie with my love was a great ending to a great day!

Sunday:
Sunday morning I woke up went to Starbucks and met Travis' friends from Houston in town to say hello before they headed back to Houston. They are always so pleasant and I am glad we got the chance to visit quickly before they headed out of town. I went back "home" ..to Jay's apartment and grabbed lunch and a book and headed down to the pool to relax for a few hours with a good book. Just as I was getting nice and relaxed and into my book here comes this Jersey Shore looking "Guido" to interrupt my relaxation and invade my personal space. He seriously looked like he spent 8 hours a day plastering cement in his hair, taking steriods, and tanning; one of Dallas' $30k millionaires as Jay calls 'em! Here is how the conversation went, after he sat down on my lounge chair like he had known me all his life, with his friends watching in the background:
Me: "Excuse you"
Guido: "I see you don't have on a ring?" (as soon as he said that I thought Game On)
Me:"It's too big to wear to the pool."
Guido: "So, you are taken?"
Me: "Yes Happily!"
Guido: "Where's your husband?"
Me: "He's working. He will be here shortly if you would like and introduction."
Guido: "If my wife was as fine as you I would not let her come to the pool without me."
Me: "Why so douchebags like you couldn't hit on her?" (sorry for the language)

He gracefully got up off my chair and walked back over to his friends with is mouth wide open in awe that someone just shut him down, like he lost his last friend and had never been shut down before. The look on his face was priceless! Sorry Guido, not interested take tanned, steriod, cement hair looking self back to the shore; us Texas girls like REAL men!!

Later on Sunday evening we headed to the softball field for our Sunday ritual of Jay layingout all over 3rd base soaking up as much of the dirt from infield as possible (I'm kidding, love you!!)! Every Sunday Jay plays softball and I am the greatest girlfirend on Earth and sit in the blazing sun to watch him get dirty and stinky and sweating...some call it crazy, we call it love. After the game Jay gets a call from one of the guys at the proshop at Bridlewood saying the pump house is smokeing! Apparently the sulfur tank was malfunctioning and was about to cause some serious damage. Luckily the fire department is within walking distance and Jay's dad was on duty at that station Sunday night. After we drove by and noticed the tank smokeing and not from normal production, Jay ran into the fire station got the crew and they headed to fix the issue. My poor honey was a nervous wreck. Not only was this his job but his dad was in the middle of what could have been a very dangerous situation. In the 30 plus years his dad has been a fireman Jay has never seen him do his job and how iron is it that the one time he did was at his job?! Poor Jay Murphy's Law was his worst enemy last week. What could go wrong did go wrong and he was ready to choke Murphy Sunday night! Needless to say the fireman did their job and Jay did his so the problem was resolved before it got to the point of no return and we all went home safe and sound.

*To wrap it up, this weekend was quite interesting and very entertaining. I absolutely hate Monday's (except that I got my baby boy back) but I am counting down the days until Thursday when we get to spend another wonderful weekend together. Hopefully this one will be a lot more fun and a little less "interesting". *
