"For We Walk By Faith, Not By Sight"....2 Corinthians 5:7

December 2, 2011

Thankful.

Thanks be to God, for the many blessings .........

Here are my 25 days of thanks:

Day 1: I'm thankful for my job, my amazing boss, and my incredible co-workers!

Day 2: I am thankful for my mother. She is truly the rock of our family. She holds us all together even when she feels like crumbling. She is the driving force behind the woman that I am. I love her with my whole heart...."Like my mother does."

Day 3: I am thankful for family, my family in particular. Family dinner nights never cease to amaze us! "Reunions" with my brother & sister-in-law create non-stop laughing memories for years to come. Road trips are more than entertaining. No matter what we are doing or where we are, there are memories and laughs created that are guaranteed to last us a lifetime.

Day 4: I am thankful to have my brother. Thankful that God brought him home safely and that we are blessed to have him for another day. Even though he may punch me in the rib cage EVERY time he sees me, tell me when I am getting a little round around the middle, and pick on me daily for not pursuing my dream of being a doctor. At least one of us will have a future in the medical field, and he loves to rub it in my face! I love you, Jeff Glasgow, and I am thankful to have a brother like you.

Day 5: I'm thankful for my dad. He is an incredible man and has taught me so much about life & finances! He is a true blessing to my mother & I. It takes a real man to step into a "ready-made" family and take on all the responsibilities that come with that! I will forever be grateful for the dad he didn't have to be! I love you, dad!

Day 6: I am so very thankful for the gift and miracle from God and the true blessing that is my child. Travis Jacob Perkins a constant reminder of how great our God really is. So thankful that God chose me to be a mommy, his mommy. He brings so much joy to my life, the glue that has held me together in the worst of times, and my saving grace. Without him I would be lost. He will always be mama's baby and my Little knight in shining armor. I love you, baby boy!!

Day 7: I am thankful, grateful, and most importantly blessed to have my fiance, Jay Tinsley, in our life. As a single mother who had already been through the worst of times, it was hard to believe I would ever find a man that would put me back together, show me what love really is, and love my son as if he were his own. God gave me Jay, to do all of these things. He has been more than I could have ever in a million years expected, the best JayDaddy that Jacob could ever have and the most loving, caring, hardworking, dedicated man that could have ever pieced me back together. ♥ Jeremiah 29:11

Day 8: I am thankful for my wonderful sister-in-law, Jessica Glasgow. I am so thankful that she has stood by my brother's side through so much and been the rock that he needed to get him through the scariest time in his life. She is precious and a great addition to our family! I am so thankful that she loves my brother unconditionally and will be the driving force behind him through it all! I love you, sister!

Day 9: I am thankful for the few girlfriends that I have that have always been my very best friends. No matter the distance, no matter the problems, no matter the hardships. We have been friends through it all. We have been each others counselors, advisors, prayer warriors, but most importantly we are friends, more like sisters, and will always will be. I love you, girls.

Day 10: I am thankful for those Marines & their spouses that I met along the way. I am thankful for the one Marines in particular that changed my life forever, gave me the gift of being a mother, and shared some of the best of times and the worst of times together, Travis Perkins. I am thankful for those Marine families that are still great friends of mine even after all the chaos. Today is your day Marines, I am grateful for knowing so many of you and thankful for all your service! Happy Birthday USMC! Some of my favorite memories of all of us together were at the USMC Birthday Ball! Semper Fi ♥

Day 11: I am thankful I live in a country where brave men & women take a stand, put on a uniform, and fight for me to live my life the way I want to. I am thankful for those men & women in uniform that I proudly call my friends and family. I thank you all for your service & dedication to our great country. Happy Veterans Day!

Day 12: I'm thankful for the ability to have reunions & spending time with my brother, family & friends. I love being able to spend this time together & so very thankful for the memories being made tonight!

Day13: I'm thankful for laughter, smiles, hugs, and the people that create them! All of which is exactly what I needed this weekend! Blessed with great family & friends and thankful for the creation of memories!

Day 14: I am thankful for God's many blessings this past year. I have been blessed with many new and exciting opportunities this year, I can't wait to see what is in store for next year :)

Day 15: I am thankful for life. God gave me this wonderful life. The good, the bad, and the ugly, I am thankful for it all. I have learned a lot from the curve balls He has thrown me the last few years, and I am grateful for each one!

Day 16: I'm thankful the rookie pilot on my flight got us here safely. I was a bit anxious with it being my first flight since Travis' accident. Let's pray for another safe flight back home tonight!

Day 17: I am thankful that I came home from Cali and Jake's room was painted! Jay Tinsley, you are an incredible man, thank you for the awesome surprise! Today I am also thankful I got to have blueberry muffins with my littlest love before coming to work. These two boys make my whole world spin ♥

Day 18: I am thankful for being raised southern. I may say "ain't" and "y'all" and call you "Sweetie" or 'Honey" and I might "bless a lot of hearts" and I might even "piddle around". I'll greet you with a big "Howdy". All soda pop is "Coke" and I might refer to my grocery cart as a "buggy" and by golly, that's okay. I'm polite and say "Ma'am" and "Sir". And if you hear a southerner say, "Oh, hell no!!" you'd better run. So thankful to be back in the great state of TEXAS and away from the rude people of California!

Day 19: I am thankful for the Aggie in my life. Thinking about the Aggie community today!

Day 20: I am thankful for Jacob, his cars and golf balls all over my house, his loving unconditionally no matter what, his wanting to doing everything "wish" me today, and the very moment he woke up this morning and looked at me and said "mommy don't be sad, i lub you"....priceless. Thankful for moments like this.

Day 21: I'm thankful my Aggie is coming home today! Hope he had fun in College Station but it's time for him to come home now!

Day 22: I am thankful for love, laughter, and happiness.

Day 23: I'm thankful for the cocktail of prescriptions I will be taking for the next 10-15 days & the new migraine med/massage therapy! I WILL be able to taste Thanksgiving dinner!!! Praise God!

Day 24: I am thankful that I can spend this holiday with my brother, it may not always be like this. Thankful for being with family this holiday season!

Day 25: Happy Thanksgiving! I am so very thankful and blessed for the many things God has given us this year. Thankful to have family, friends, faith, God, and the many things that God blesses us with on a daily basis!
